Every Compound can be represented by a formula. There are 3 types of formula:
Empirical Formula –> Simplest whole number ratio of atoms present
Molecular Formula –> Total number of atoms in one molecule
Structural Formula –> Shows how the atoms are linked together in a molecule
Note:
=> Structural Formula DOES NOT give the molecular shape

Hello everyone,
Today is the last day of the 5 days Accelerated Learning Techniques seminar that i have been attending. So far so good! Event has been awesome and i have learned something new each day on getting our human mind & heart to learn things more efficiently and effectively, so that you will remember for the Rest of Your Life! Students under my wings before should know what i mean yeah?!

Organic Chemistry is the Chemistry of Carbon Compounds. Several millions organic compounds are known compared to no more than 100, 000 compounds that contain no carbon. There is, however, a small number of carbon compounds (e.g. CO, CO2, Metal Carbonates) that are not classified as organic.
The vast number of organic compounds reflects the exceptional ability if carbon to form covalent bonds with other carbon atoms to form chains, branched chains and rings structures. Straight chain compounds are called Aliphatic Compounds and ring compounds are called Cyclic Compounds.
What would happen to your O Level Chemistry Grade when you Master your Organic Chemistry quickly and effectively within 8 hours?

Time is 1.32am in the morning, and i just came back home from the 5 days Intensive Program in Singapore, Expo. Tired now, but rallying to go for Day 2 of the program.
During the seminar, many people ask me how difference is my Chemistry Coaching different from the mainstream teaching in Secondary Schools by their own MOE (Ministry of Education) teachers.
You know what is my answer?? Totally Different! In fact, i told them that i am NOT a teacher from MOE. And my coaching is different to theirs in the following ways (in points):

I have been using Accelerated Learning Techniques to coach students under my Wings, in the area of Chemistry & Science.
Now, on 25th June 2008 @ 7.10am, i am preparing myself to move towards Singapore Expo, to attend a 5 days Intensive Seminar Program to learn more about Accelerated Learning Techniques and their effective applications.
Time for me to further upgrade and reinvent myself, so that i can be better charged up with more newer ideas and strategies to help students relate better to Chemistry and achieve the grades that they truly deserve.
Yesterday was the last day of the 5 days O Level Chemistry Intensive Revision Bootcamp and was a really emotional one for me. Especially when i was handling out the Certificate of Acheivement to this special group of committed students. I can see the smile and brightness in the eyes, and feel very proud that i decided after so long, to hold such an intensive program for a group of students that wants more help to learn Chemistry in a simple, more fun manner & to score the grades they truly deserve for their Chemistry in O Levels.

Yesterday, we have gone through the theory of Energy Changes as well as look into one of the question of Endo/Exo reaction.
Let’s try one Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) to see if you understand it.
PS: I strongly suggest you to leave your answers in the Comment Section right below this blog. Many of you will be waiting for answers directly from me. But in this way, your learning will not be effective. As such, i am looking forward to you trying out and leaving us an aswer.

During the Intensive Revision Bootcamp, the concepts surrounding the chapter on Energy Changes (Endo/Exo) are dissected and the correct concepts are shared with the class. This chapter requires little memorization and in fact, 95% of the chapter involved the understanding of the concepts and applying them accordingly in application questions, especially for those that involves Bond-Forming & Bond-Making.
First we need to define Exothermic and Endothermic properly.
Exothermic Reactions:
Reactions that gives out heat energy to the surroundings
T of reaction mixture rises. Container feels hotter
Endothermic Reactions:
Reactions that takes in heat energy from the surroundings
Temperature of reaction mixture falls. Container feels cold.
